Meeting my surgeon: The path to surgery begins

Today, I received notice from Dr Cavallucci's receptionist, informing me that I was booked to see him upon his return from overseas. It felt like the next big step in my journey - finally moving towards some clarity about what would happen next.

The first available appointment was 28 October at 9 AM. It felt like a long time to wait, with every day bringing more questions about what lay ahead. But based on everything I had read and heard, I knew the wait would be worth it. Dr Cavallucci came highly recommended, and I trusted that he would guide me through this next stage.

In preparation for the potential surgery, I checked my leave balances at work to make sure I had ample time available. It was a small, practical step, but it made me feel like I was doing something concrete - taking control of the things I could, even if so much else was uncertain.

Now, all I could do was wait for the appointment and focus on getting through the days leading up to it. The path to surgery was beginning, and I hoped it would bring the answers and plan I needed.
