NET Cancer Day

Today, on NET Cancer Day, I want to share a part of my life that has profoundly impacted me. Being diagnosed with a rare form of pancreatic cancer - Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumors (NETs) - has been a journey I never expected to take, but one that has shaped my perspective in so many ways.

These tumors are quite uncommon, accounting for about 7% of all cancers that occur in the pancreas. Interestingly, only about 7% of all neuroendocrine tumors are pancreatic, with the rest occurring in places like the lungs and gastrointestinal tract.

What makes my story even more surprising is that I had no symptoms or warning signs. My cancer was discovered incidentally during an examination for something entirely different, leaving me in shock. It’s been a challenging journey, but I’m determined to face it with strength and hope.

Today is NET Cancer Day, a day dedicated to raising awareness about neuroendocrine tumors around the world. NETs are often misdiagnosed, and increasing awareness is crucial for early detection and better outcomes.

Thank you for your continued support as I navigate through this chapter of my life.
